Reporting To Remember is a pledge to not forget incidents of sexual violence, that have been justified by individuals in power and authority. It takes the form collaborative, participatory, and open research project that archives incidents of gender based violence that have been excused, and therefore permitted.

We are Reporting to Remember : incidents of sexual violence that have been justified and live in public collective memory. The Reporting To Remember project locates, collects and shares the number of incidents and cases of sexual violence that have been excused, hence allowed, across geographies and contexts.

To contribute to Reporting To Remember is to be part of a collective process of generating evidence. This could be in the form of statements, news reports, articles, blogposts and other public documents.

The Reporting To Remember project values inclusivity in its reports and urges you to share statements from various spaces and locations, and relating to multiple genders, orientations, identities, and intersections. This archive is a collaborative effort and will be publicly shared and sourced.

*Reporting to Remember*  is a collaborative open archive project as part of the "I Never Ask For It" campaign. It is being facilitated by Blank Noise along with project partners and allies, i.e., you.

Do fill in this form, linking to documents, articles, or posts that you have come across in your contexts, communities and collective memories, that justify sexual violence.

(Delhi rapist says victim shouldn't have fought back . That she should have been silent ... they would 'do her' and let her go. and only hit the boy. That they did it to teach her a lesson because she was out late with a man.

YES , THE LIKELIHOOD OF HIM SAYING SO ISN'T VERY SURPRISING. nor shocking. maybe a reminder that sexual violence has long been justified, perpetuated, enabled  by our own attitudes that create an environment of victim blame.
he's part of it. we're part of it.
'THE FACE OF EVIL' LIVES IN ALL OF US.
in our court room, in the press, in the police stations, at home, in our mind, on the internet...
ML Sharma, the defence lawyer said "In our society, we never allow our girls to come out from the house after 6:30 or 7:30 or 8:30 in the evening with any unknown person,"
Javed Akhtar, Rajya Sabha MP on why we're angry. that the rapists attitudes have been shared, spoken and encouraged in the parliament itself. they know they think just like the rapist, and if this doesn't sound right, they should change their own mindset.

Nilanjana Roy :

Indian women found their voice after the Delhi rape. Could this film help silence them again?

INDIA’S DAUGHTER’ IS NOT AN ACT OF GLOBAL SOLIDARITY Vrinda Grover
I think we need to take a position of engagement rather than posit it as a ban or no ban issue ( which to my mind is much more convenient but not necessarily helpful position).

I NEVER ASK FOR IT- REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT REPORT REPEAT

" Just because I'm slutty doesn't mean you can be dirty "

Can't ignore the echo. Something's stirring. Something's changing the scene as more of us from across the globe question and challenge the age old analysis for sexual harassment " she asked for it "
Blame is universal because its convenient. This attitude has only perpetuated the issue of sexual violence.

We repeat.
No woman of any age colour or character ever deserves to be sexually harassed or violated.
I Never Ask For It.

Applauding Action hero-ism spirit from Shanghai.

To The Deputy Director of Tourism, Goa

“You can't blame the locals; they have never seen such women. Foreign tourists must maintain a certain degree of modesty in their clothing. Walking on the beaches half-naked is bound to titillate the senses,” New Delhi's Mail Today newspaper quoted Pamela Mascarhenas, Goa's deputy director of tourism, as saying Friday.

To the Deputy Director of Tourism, Goa
Pamela Mascarhenas,

By making the statement above you are blaming women instead of taking responsibility of the issue. If you believe a person's dress is culturally inappropriate, you may continue to believe so, but you cannot defend any act of violence. A person inappropriately dressed according to your idea of 'Indianness' does not deserve to be attacked, assaulted, molested, raped or even whistled at.

For your information, women from across age groups be it 3 month old babies of 90 year old have been raped. They have been raped in saris, burkhas, salwar kameez, school uniforms, bikinis, jeans, skirts, shirts, lungis. Women have been molested, assaulted, raped at all times of the day, and in public places.

We hope this will direct you towards taking responsibility of these incidents by actually addressing male behaviour and men in Goa, for which you will first have to address yourself by accepting this truth.

We have evidence even though we don't really need it.

No woman of any colour, dress , age, character deserves to be sexually violated or what some might lightly call 'eve teased'.

Thank you for your attention,

An Indian girl who loves her saris and her hot pants.

tamil to english translation coming up:
anyone wants to volunteer to translate?

and Ramyah Veer from the BN Chennai mailing list has sent this in
:

"The perpetrator apologises to the male actor for misbehaving with the actress. But the actor drags the culprit near the actress and makes him brush his hands against the actress's hands. The actor didn't stop with that.
I think it would be better if i explain the dialogue in direct voice.
The actor to the perpetrator:
"Are you satisfied with this or u want something else from her?Are u behind her skin, flesh? If this is all what you want, then go get it from a meat shop."
Now the actor takes a complete look at the actress(top to bottom) and starts his next set of dialogues
Between the actor and the actress:
Actor : I don't find any saree or innerskirt. You are just wearing a panty.
Actress: This is called 'shorts'.
Actor : For you girls it is 'shorts'.For us(men), it is a 'panty'...... Then I dont find any blouse or duppatta. You r just wearing a bra.
Actress:This is called 'Sleeveless'
Actor: For you girls it is 'Sleeveless'.For us, it is a 'bra'..... Wearing all these for letting enough air get into ur underarms or showing off the body piercing done on ur navel or a tattoo on ur thighs .... is this a product exhibition or body exhibition(i.e. show-off)?You girls wear dresses in a way that let others count the moles on ur body and then complain if a perpetrator touches ur body..... This has become a job for u all... Just know this. God created men for women and women for men...Main purpose is that a woman is for man's need and a man for woman's need.God has created all of us in huge but it is us who has to be disciplined.Disciplined in the sense being true to one person in ur life.If u feel that u want to live with only one man forever, then showoff to him alone. But if you showoff ur body to everyone, then every men will want/desire to live with you only.
(The crowd applauds the actor by making some comments)
Actor:If you dress like a traditional Indian woman wearing a saree with whole body covered up, then men will treat u more than a woman ... they will treat u like Godess Mahalakshmi....
The actor then ends the dialogue by asking her to leave in a contemptuous manner.
This is what the entire scene conveys .
