International Award For Public Art 2015

Yelahanka Action Heroes building the 'Safest Lane' (Srishti Institute of Art Design and Technology)

We are really pleased to share that our project ' Talk To Me ' was the recipient of the International Award For Public Art , 2015!

The IAPA has been established by Forecast Public Art along with Shanghai University's College of Fine Arts.

Jurors for IAPA 2015 :  Rhana Devenport (New Zealand), Wang Dawei (China), Ute Metea Bauer (Singapore), Jay Pather (South Africa), Bill Kelley, Jr. (U.S.A.), Chelsea Haines (U.S.A.), and Pooja Sood (India

The award ceremony took place on July 1st, 2015,  in Auckland, during the conference, Cities in a Climate of Change. IAPA co hosted by University of Auckland, Elam School of Fine Arts, Shandong University of Art and Design.

In true Blank Noise spirit , we invite you to participate , join us for the next street action on March 8th and be the Blank Noise Action Hero! This intervention will occur across cities in India- whether you're one person in your city or 100- join in- and build the spirit!

A Blank Noise public intervention requires people to sign up and volunteer. It can be fun, challenging and exciting! So hurry! Write in now, with your city name and we will add you to the list below.

Event details will be 'revealed' to those who write in. It's no fun to spell it out now! Bring your friends and family along. Experience it.

Venue for event will be finalized only with your permission/ participation.

Who is an Action Hero?

An action hero's reaction is not an emotional outburst, but infact a strategy/ a plan/ a choreography. An Action Hero knows how to judge a situation. An Action Hero chooses to confront or not to confront, but at no point ignores/ avoids the problem. Are you one?

ilona granet

I was recently introduced to the works of Ilona Granet, a New York based artist, who started her career as a sign painter.

Granet is still working in the streets, trying to make them more tolerable for women. In 1986 she became infamous for her Emily Post Street Signs, "regulations" for etiquette in public places. The injunctions are written in English and Spanish: "No cat calls, whistling and kissing noises" or "Curb your animal instincts."
